Our ObjectiveOur overall objective was to help CCE agencies make better informed decisions by quantifying costs and benefits of three types of programs they commonly consider implementing. In order to meet this objective, we produced the following:
Benefits and Costs Quantified |
Greenhouse GasesPrograms may reduce total energy demand, encourage fuel switching, and increase renewable energy procurement - outcomes that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
|
Economic BenefitsPrograms can create value by providing revenue to CCE agencies and/or cost savings to customers. They also cost money to run and can reduce revenue from energy sales.
|
Health BenefitsReducing fossil fuel combustion may reduce or increase the emission of other pollutants, depending on the agency's energy sources - causing local health benefits or costs.
