Who We Are: Graduate Student Researchers
Erica Petrofsky Project Manager
Erica Petrofsky specialized in Economics and Politics of the Environment and Energy and Climate at the Bren School, where she learned how better to create, evaluate, and implement solutions to climate change. After studying Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Puget Sound, Erica taught English in Indonesia and then worked at Albany, California’s Sustainability Division, the Center for Environmental Health, the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development.
Cooper Tamayo Finance Manager
Cooper Tamayo received his Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Brown University in 2014. At Brown he conducted independent research on nutrient cycling in the tropical forests of Puerto Rico. After completing his undergraduate studies, Cooper worked with Nature’s Classroom as an outdoor educator, teaching students about the importance of protecting the natural environment. At Bren, Cooper pursued a specialization in Energy and Climate with a focus in Strategic Environmental Communication.
Lily Eunhee Lee Data Manager
Eunhee (Lily) Lee specialized in Energy and Climate at the Bren School to find ways to mitigate environmental impacts. After studying Chemical Engineering at Inha University, South Korea, she worked for Korea Gas Corporation in their Environment and Safety department. She monitored compliance with air quality and waste regulations, analyzed environmental effects of the facility's operations, contributed to the procedure manuals needed to become ISO 50001 certified, tracked greenhouse gas emissions, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions through an employee engagement program.
Taylor Briglio Outreach Manager
Taylor Briglio specialized in Corporate Environmental Management at the Bren School, where he learned how for-profit companies can reduce their environmental impact while still remaining profitable. Before coming to Bren he earned a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at UCLA. Taylor then worked at Jorgensen Environmental Compliance Services preparing air quality permits and submitting air emissions reports for medium to large manufacturing facilities across the country.
Symphony Yu Project Coordinator
Symphony specialized in Corporate Environmental Management at the Bren School and completed the Graduate Program in Management Practice certificate through UCSB's Technology Management Program. She developed the skills and expertise at Bren to help companies foster sustainable growth and create long-term shareholder value by designing innovative business solutions to environmental issues. Prior to Bren, she conducted research at UC Santa Barbara studying population dynamics and ecology of the critically endangered giant sea bass. Symphony also participated in a number of marine and tropical biology research initiatives as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley, where she received a bachelor's degree in integrative biology and psychology.
